About Us

At JJO, our commitment to supporting youth extends beyond the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC). Our focus is on addressing the diverse needs of every young individual we engage with, covering physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. Our aim is to make a beneficial difference in the lives of all vulnerable youth in our community. We strive to evolve creatively to achieve this objective effectively. One way we do this is by allocating funds towards youth scholarships for essential programs such as counseling, therapy, and martial arts. Moreover, we contribute to filling food pantries, stocking fridges, providing school essentials, meals, and seasonal gifts. We also collaborate in enlisting adult mentors to serve as positive influences for youth in search of role models. Our commitment is to fill an identified need or connect the youth to .

Our Core Values:

  1. Faith – We believe that God is the ultimate answer to life’s problems.

  2. Hope – We believe that in every situation and circumstance we can find hope.

  3. Love – We believe that loving unconditionally, uncompromisingly and without judgment will make the biggest life changing impact possible on those we serve.

Juvenile Justice Outreach was founded in 1997 with the goal of supporting, encouraging and providing spiritual guidance to the youth in the Juvenile Justice System. Through the chaplain program at the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) and a myriad of other programs and services, JJO has faithfully served North Idaho for over 25 years. JJO’s founder, Jeff Cheeseborough, dedicated his life to this community’s at-risk youth until he passed away in June of 2020. During that 23 year period he made a positive impact in thousands of kids lives and kept the community engaged in helping them and their families.
