About Us
Mission Statement:
Meeting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of the at-risk youth of North Idaho in order to help them become positive influences on their peers, successful adults and contributing members of their community.
Vision Statement:
Through a variety of programs, resources, scholarships and mentor relationships, we aim to provide the structure, discipline, wisdom and truth our youth need to overcome their barriers and succeed in today’s world.
Our Core Values:
Faith – We believe that God is the ultimate answer to life’s problems.
Hope – We believe that in every situation and circumstance we can find hope.
Love – We believe that loving unconditionally, uncompromisingly and without judgment will make the biggest life changing impact possible on those we serve.
Juvenile Justice Outreach was founded in 1997 with the goal of supporting, encouraging and providing spiritual guidance to the youth in the Juvenile Justice System. Through the chaplain program at the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) and a myriad of other programs and services, JJO has faithfully served North Idaho for over 25 years. JJO’s founder, Jeff Cheeseborough, dedicated his life to this community’s at-risk youth until he passed away in June of 2020. During that 23 year period he made a positive impact in thousands of kids lives and kept the community engaged in helping them and their families.
JJO Director Jackson Lanterman picked up right where Jeff left off, carrying the torch that Jeff held so faithfully for 23 years. JJO’s focus continues to be on the youth in the juvenile justice system, and we’re working hard to grow our reach to as many of those youth as possible.
We rely on the generosity of our community to meet the ongoing needs of the youth we work with, and if you’d like to partner with us in this mission, you can find out how to volunteer with us or make a tax-deductible donation to support our work HERE.
